Death of Thomas Hanson in Highland township 1932
Thomas Hanson died at his Highland township home on October 1 1932 at age 84 years eight months eight days from heart trouble. Born January 23 1848 in Hadeland Norway he emigrated to America aged 21, lived near LeMars and Clayton county before farming in Elgin area for 48 years. He and Eliza Baumgartner had twelve children, four predeceased him. surviving incl Mrs Ernest Meyer Theodore Martha Chapman Adolph Martin Ellen Edwin Fred and many grandchildren. Funeral Oct 4 at home and Apostolic church conducted by Rev Edward Grimm. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Card of Thanks expresses gratitude for support.
