A panel discussion group visited Decorah to tape a discussion on Communism Socialism or Democracy. Speakers included DeWayne Johnson Judy Swenson and Oran Shipton with Mrs Meskel as moderator. DeWayne provided a school news summary. The program aired on KWILC at 6 p m Thanksgiving Day. The six weeks ended with a plant and animal classification test. The third six weeks began with erosion and its effects on us and insect pests. The new chapter is The Beginnings of Modern Nations covering the rise to power of England France Spain Germany and Italy and how natural events shaped borders.

Clermont Boys Fall to West Union in Low-Scoring Clash
West Union defeated Clermont 37 to 34 as Waldron and Yauslin each scored 16 points to pace the tight game. In the second game Clermont’s Nerner led with 30 points in a 30 to 22 win. Clermont’s girls’ team fell to Elgin in two thrilling double overtime losses. Continues on Page 8.

Obituary of Andrew M Kloster
Funeral services for Andrew M. Kloster were held at First Lutheran church in Ossian area. Born February 13 1872 in Dover township Fayette county he died November 28 1980 aged 78 years. Survived by widow Klara two sons Clarence and Albert two grandchildren Charlotte and David Johnson two sisters and one brother. Interment in First Lutheran cemetery south of Ossian. The Clermont Clover Clovers met November 25 at Heverly Suckow with programs led by Jean Brandt Janet Block Belva Brandt and Peggy Kerr. Members made pot holders and prizes went to Beverly Suckow and Peggy Kerr. Luncheon served by hostesses.
