The Berlin churches urge clothing donations for overseas relief amid refugee surges, asking groups to bundle and load goods into two box cars at Calmer freight tracks. Volunteers will assist from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday through Monday, November 28 to December 1.
Meadow Study Club met Friday at the home of Mrs. Clarence Kittelson. The gathering opened with a song and scripture. roll call followed. Nominating committee named new officers for the coming year: president Mrs. Ewald Liyngass, vice president Mrs. Martin Amundson, secretary Mrs. Arthur Helgerson. Thanksgiving poems were read and corsage making facts shared by Mrs. Amundson. Guests included Mrs. Gilbert Anderson and Mrs. Henry Kittelson.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hoopman with Dale and Karen spent Sunday in Cresco visiting Mrs. Josie Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Fremont Sullivan of Independence were Friday overnight guests in the Geo W Larson Anson Priest home.
Mr and Mrs Harold Crispin announce the engagement of daughter Keren Kay Crispin to Victor Amundson of Huxley son of Mr and Mrs Martin Amundson of Clermont. The wedding is set for December 13 at Napier Methodist Church Napier. Miss Crispin works at Ames Trust and Savings Bank while Mr Amundson directs vocal music at Ballard Community School. They will reside in Ames after marriage.
Relatives gathered at the George Wander home in Castalia on Sunday for a dinner honoring John G Warder of Ossian on his 89th birthday. The bride elect works at the REA office in Postville and the fi ance is employed by A and K Transfer in Charles City.
