Miller Eyes 1942 Gubernatorial Run for GOP in Iowa
Des Moines observers note Earl G. Miller, secretary of state, is openly aiming for the 1942 Republican gubernatorial nomination. Miller has party support in Des Moines, though GOP factions may oppose his bid. Farm voting patterns show Roosevelt leading in town polls but losing in Iowa farm votes, while Gov. Wilson secures 51 percent of farm support. Predictions in Wallace’s Farmer align closely with surveyed margins.
