Mary Hanson teaches at Postville and Irvin Shaffer recovers from a shredder accident with hope of saving fingers.
The Marion Dorcas Society will meet at the church parlors on Saturday, November 17. Hostesses include Mesdames Howard Hanson and Olvin Olson. Dinner guests and visits feature multiple local families, with gatherings at Betha West and various homes in Locust and Clermont.
Colorado Springs and West Union host families received a variety of visitors including Mrs Bertha West Mrs Gerhardt Groth and girls the Lawrence West family and the Louis Kjosa family. Sunday afternoon at the Orville Paige home West Union saw the Allen Anderson home greeted by the Otto Gisleson and Lloyd Reier son families. Tuesday evening visitors at the Henry Olson home were Mr and Mrs Lloyd Schutte. Dining guests included Mr and Mrs Milo Jacobia and Judy at the Ray Jacobia home and Mr and Mrs Keith Brainard and Marsha at the U T Loftsgard home. The Ole Loftsgard home hosted the Orlando Loftsgard Rodney Smith and Mrs Aldora Loftsgard families. Dining guests Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs Ole E Olson were Tom Holm and Mr and Mrs Se aer Holm with Connie and Gary Olson. Mrs Elmer Schutte and Mrs Lloyd Schutte visited Saturday afternoon with Mrs Henry Olson. Mrs Milo Olson and Gregory spent time there Thursday, while Roger Holm and Danna Masciafak from Elkader drove to Dubuque Sunday to visit Betty Holm.
Local families and friends spent the weekend with relatives and neighbors. Notable visits include Mrs. Julia Landsgard with Mrs. Alta Blockhus, the Vernon Andersons at Alvin Halversons, and the Nelsons at the Don Wilson home. A pink and blue baby shower was hosted by Mrs. Don Heins with Mrs. Lamont Gericke cohostessing.
