Mr and Mrs Geo D Schroyer of Clear Lake welcomed a daughter born Saturday November 8 weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces The mother was formerly Lillian Halverson
Der ald Halverson, son-in-law of Mr and Mrs Louis Sutter, suffered a hammermill accident while grinding feed last Thursday. He lost fingers up to the second joint and was taken to Palmer hospital where he remained hospitalized for several days.

In Iowa State College Air Force ROTC Cpl Paul D Smith earned promotion to cadet corporal for air force subject proficiency. Purple Heart awards went to Fgt E/2 Raymond H Loftsgard and awards and leave notices covered Pvt Henry Follett and A H Brackin. Cpl Dennler returned to inactive duty after 21 months in Korea with multiple ribbons and badges.
Mr and Mrs V W Luce departed Sunday for California to establish a new home. They sold their local residence earlier and recently liquidated personal property. The couple plans a leisure trip visiting friends and relatives, with 610 Kentucky St listed as their address care of W H Jacobs in Petaluma California.
Miss Idella Looby married Helmuth Landt at St. John's Lutheran Luana in a double ring ceremony officiated by Rev. L W Reuther. The couple, both Luana natives, planned a reception for 400 at the church and a later dance at Lakeside, with plans to reside on the Landt farm south of Luana.
At the Community Club meeting in the public school building Monday evening, twenty members attended. A dinner was served by the Auxiliary, followed by the business meeting. Officers for 1953 were elected: Otis Torkelson as president, W. F. Koh ler as vice president, and Merle Clark as secretary treasurer. The program included a Christmas trade promotion report by F. D. Welch and updates on school consolidation from Paul Zurbriggen.
A neighborhood gathering at Brackin school Monday evening examined the proposed consolidation. Chairman W C Follett and other committee members attended to explain the proposition.

Torkelson Motor Co of Mon day bought the Sylvan Lenth vacant lot east of their garage. The 50 by 100 foot plot will be filled soon and the owners plan to use it for a used car lot.
Charles Kimball died Wednesday morning at West Union hospital after a week there. Funeral arrangements had not been completed at press time.
