An Armistice Day program is scheduled at the school on Wednesday November 11 with a 1045 American Legion service on the grounds and an 1115 program in the gym featuring music by the Elgin School Band the Boys Glee Club and piano duet. The Junior class play is set for December 4.
A list of fire safety commandments cautions against rubbish accumulation hot ashes in wooden containers and inflammable liquids near flames. In memory of Brother Henry M. McMillan who died November 1, 1931 at Silver Leaf Lodge No. 518 A F and A M Elgin Iowa. Members extend sympathy to the widow and children and order the lodge charter and room draped in mourning for thirty days, with the resolution published in the Elgin Echo and mailed to the family.
