Mrs. Katherine Burch Werner, who led Tennessee suffrage forces and helped secure the national adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment, died in Nashville after a short illness from heart trouble. Also noted: Dr. Boris Stdis, psychology expert, died suddenly in Portsmouth New Hampshire at forty six.

Oklahoma City Lieut Gov M H Trapp named acting governor by state supreme court in a writ of prohibition that permanently restrains Gov Walton and District Judge Tom Chambers Sr from interfering with his resumed hold on the office.
A Memphis plan proposes returning up to 1000 families of African Americans to the South, with Alabama and other states seeking to repatriate about 17,000 people from the Lake Michigan region. The chamber of commerce received details urging southern cities to receive the returnees.
