Allen Family Escapes Serious Injury In Train Collision
A West Main street car carrying Mrs J W Allen four children and Rose Hadd was struck by a slow freight train at railroad tracks, shoving the vehicle onto the sidewalk about 30 feet from the crossing. No injuries reported though minor car damage. The driver blamed obstructed view from a right side truck. Nearby residents include the MacKellar family arriving from Kingsley for a visit and public notes on local band work and Memorial Day events. Cut worms are harming fields and gardens, with advice to dig around plants at dawn to kill them.
