Honorees Hetky Hecker Mark Nelson and Denise Loftigan celebrated their first birthdays at a celebration hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Meyer. The children, all cousins, were baptized the same day at West Clermont Lutheran Church. Service Club Seeks Wisconsin Bus Trip For Members
The Service Club met at Mrs Henry Amundson home on Tuesday May 19 with 14 members present. They opened with America the Beautiful and heard devotions from Mrs Martin Amundson. A bus trip to Wisconsin points of interest was planned for late June or early July with contacts Mrs Gilbert Anderson or Mrs Otto Vasby. A farewell gift was given to Mrs George Belschner who will move to Arlington in June. Bingo baskets and lunch followed the business meeting.

Former Resident Dies in Minneapolis Veteran of World War II
Otto Johnson aged 53 of 2205 Park Ave Minneapolis died Monday. A Norway native and 16 year resident, he was a World War II veteran and Gopher American Legion Post member employed at Thermo King Co. Surviving are a brother in Norway and five cousins. Services set for 2 00 p m at Welander Quist South Chapel with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Three hundred four third year high school girls will attend Hawkeye Girls State at Iowa State Teachers College Cedar Falls June 14 to 20. The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors this national project to teach girls about government and civic processes through a week of citizenship training and a simulated system. Kathleen Amundson of Clermont is selected by Sheehan-Olson Unit No. 375 to attend, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Almer Amundson. alternate is Bonnie Jean Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Taylor.
