Chance to Break Habit of Three Years Aged Addict Hampers Refusal
Arthur Anderson of Bayfield Wisconsin appeared before the Commissioners of Insanity on Friday seeking treatment for morphine addiction. At 28, he described eight years of escalating use after neuralgia and stated a Detroit supplier charged $40 per ounce. He claimed to be educated and previously employed until the habit forced a halt. He requested placement for care and was committed to the State Hospital at Independence for treatment. Also reported were four marriage licenses issued in the past week and local arrest news involving Harley Schatz on a bastardy charge, plus ongoing legal cases surrounding Damon and Riley Connor and updates on the Little Eight League setup and officers for 1929.
