A home talent play at the Groth school house last Saturday evening titled Deacon Dubbs drew a good crowd despite poor weather. Miss Alice Gilbertson taught the school, earning praise for her work and the actors for an entertaining performance. Meeting of Knights Sparks Notable Flame In North Towns

BG. RYAN reports a large Knights meeting last night north of town. Only invited members attended, a fiery burning event observed for miles. Next Sunday a union Memorial Service will be held at 10 in the Baptist church. The day’s other services follow the usual schedule.

Memorial Day in Elgin honors four lost G A R veterans with a program at Migin Opera House starting 1 30 pm next Friday May 30.
