Vetoed oil gift bill marks Wilson’s 1941 action
Gov George A Wilson vetoed the $25,000 gift bill for the first producing oil well in Iava nine days before the session limit. He cited lack of required two thirds in both houses and an attorney general opinion backing the veto. The move follows a similar 1939 veto.

Iowa governor and attorney general split on two thirds vote for bill
The governor and attorney general ruled the appropriation bill needed a two thirds vote in each house to pass. Since not achieved, they said it failed of passage in both chambers. Also notes on Bagley and Linn hobbies and suspension status of Berry, Halden, and Fred Willis.
