Elgin social notes recount visits and health updates
In Elgin many neighbors hosted and visited over past days. Mrs. Keiser remains weak, several relatives and friends called or dined with her. Fred Schaer returned from Rochester and is improving. Mrs. Torkelson suffered a minor stroke but is recovering. Dozens of local households hosted guests, traveled to Waterloo and Des Moines, or tended to family illness and farm work amid town life.
