Elgin Echo Notices and Local Happenings Summary
Local Elgin items span moves and visits including Wertz returning home to his father Frank Wertz, Florence Berg visiting Cedar Falls, and George Mack’s fifth birthday party. Vendors tout Dairy Based Alfalfa Hay, Pillsbury Flour at $2.20, full stock of paints, and rock-steady news on oats, seeding, and spring tourism. Updates cover illnesses measles and tonsilitis, a Clermont minstrel show, and a rising baseball season with early planning. Also noted are car purchases for Falk Garage, a camel birth at Robbins brothers’ circus, and community travel plans to Chicago and Decorah for work or leisure.
