Elgin City Election Without Printed Ballot Nominations
Elgin prepares for a Monday election under a new law that requires nominations to be filed fifteen days before voting. No names appear on the ballot due to late filings and a short window after a March caucus. Caucus attendees listed candidates for council and other posts, with one mayoral candidate declining. The notice urges support for the caucus nominees and notes similar nomination delays in nearby towns.
