Sir and Mrs Elmer Schori were seen at Dex Mein last week amid a social event. Mr Schori participated in an atte mpts convention, while a dance at a Jumter concluded the evening.
In Oak Grove many neighbors visited and called at local homes on Sunday and Saturday. Brabham, Luchsinger, Schupbach, Gilson, Dennler and Bennett families figure among the frequent guests and family moves are noted with Harold Strong taking residence on a newly purchased farm.
Robert Peters of Dubuque has been among Elgin friends this past week visiting and catching up with longtime companions.
The Iowa pres appears as a weekly publication edited by R P Strauch. Registered in Elgin Fayette County Iowa it is mailed as second class matter indicating its status and local distribution details.
A series of 1928 Republican nomination notices from West Union candidates. W L Philips, William F Byers, L A Grimes, and Martin M Cooney state intentions for Fayette County offices including representative sheriff county attorney with primaries set for June 4. Each seeks voter approval at the upcoming primary election.
Classified ads list several farm items including Minorca hatching eggs at free units, farm for sale near Glermon on graveled road, police pups for sale, fireproof safe wanted to buy, Webster's International dictionary for sale, grain supplies, S. C. White Leghorn chicks and related hatchery details, scratch pads for sale at Echo Office, and a notice of N W Evans and daughter visiting Clermont.
