Miner Seeks Law Merging County Roles Into Highway Boss
W A H Miner of Waukon former Allamakee county engineer traveled to Des Moines Sunday to urge a proposed law uniting most county supervisors duties with the county engineer into a single County Superintendent of Highways. Miner contends the plan would cut taxes by thousands in every county, by removing duplicate supervisor road committee work while preserving auditing, bids and reporting functions for the board.
