Politicians Still Biz Question for Demo
A weekly Iowa newsletter weighs two state political questions. Will John K. Valentine oppose Senator Edward Breen for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination and will Harrison E. Spangler be unseated as Republican National Committeeman. The piece notes Valentine’s reluctance, Hatch Law restrictions, and the tension between party factions. It cites Breen’s entry cooling Valentine plans, Valentine’s district attorney role, and family urging him to stay, while the Spangler effort appears mixed and uncertain, with no clear front-runner.
