State Sen Jack Miller of Sioux City has entered the lieutenant governor contest, facing W L Mooty of Grundy Center and Alan Vest of Sac City. Lt Gov W H Nicholas seeks the governorship as Miller’s long career in state service is noted. The state board of control seeks 17700 for a psychiatric program at Anamosa, with action deferred to mid March. Loveless bids farewell to the USS Iowa in Philadelphia, and officials discuss road standards and interstate system impact on Iowa’s secondary roads.
