The Elgin Iowa town council held a special session at the Town Hall on February 24 1928 to consider boulevard lighting. Mayor Muehlethaler and six councilmen plus Community Club representatives heard Central States Electric Co manager Mr Tegtmeter outline a plan needing about 24 light poles 2200 feet of cable with work to be coordinated with company headquarters for a future update.

Thos. Richads Died Saturday in West Union

Thos Richards of West Union and former Illyria farmer died Saturday after a two week illness from a stroke. He was buried Monday in the Illyria cemetery near his old home.
