Wit and Weather in a Town Picnic Day
A local column reflects on everyday town life noting a woman with a baby, handy men, and a town deserted during a picnic. It mentions heat tolerance, a visit by Mrs. Franke to West Union, and a quip about judgment and prejudice. The piece also nods to Lloyd George and King George amid broader views on leadership and rule in England.
