See Here Private Hargrove! Army Life at Fort Bragg
Marion Hargrove recounts induction into the U S Army, rough starts at reception, misfit duties, and bunkhouse humor with fellow Charlotte News colleagues. He describes disrobing civil life, harsh training, hazy food, goofy fellow soldiers, KP duties, and early assignments as a cook and cadre. The column blends satire with frontline grit in the July induction.
