Farmers' Share Of Dollar Down
The farmer's share of the consumer dollar spent for meat fell from 67 cents in 1947-49 to 52 cents in the first quarter of this year. The drop is due mainly to higher costs in processing, transporting and selling meat products. Much of the rise is blamed on increased wage rates in food processing and transportation sectors.
