Young minister, barber moves, and local visits in West Union
Des Moines minister Charles Cannom, son of Dr. and Mrs. Cannom, is installed as pastor of Grimes Christian church for the summer and is noted as possibly the youngest minister in the state. Honace Yack endures a sore foot after stepping on a nail over two weeks. Harry Becker relocates his barber shop within West Union, reducing one shop but not the number of barbers. The community features building preparations for Isa Cook’s balweluntery and ladies ready to wear goods, social visits, and trips by residents to Cedar Rapids and Colorado Springs for tourism work and family gatherings.
