Funeral services for Mrs. Anna E Buckdasher and Mrs. Rosa Jacob s were held at the Elgin Baptist church Sunday afternoon at the same time an unusual circumstance. Both died on Thursday June 8 and shared the same birthday January 18. Buckdasher was 82 and Jacob s 88.
Born January 18 1862 in Frankfurt Germany she moved to Aurora Illinois then Sumner before farming near Elgin. Married Nicklaus Ruckdashel October 1 1888. Survived by son Alfred three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services at Elgin Baptist Church conducted by Rev Paul F Zoschke burial in Union Evangelical cemetery.
We express sincere appreciation for kind acts during the illness and death of our mother and grandmother. Messages and flowers were a comfort, from Mr and Mrs Alfred Buckdasher, App and the grandchildren.
Rosa Jacob nee Sutter born January 18 1856 in Bern Switzerland. Emigrated to America at eleven near Elgin. Joined Apostolic then Elgin Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband Benedict 1916. Survived by sister Mary Matthys and brother John Sutter. Service led by Rev Paul F Zoschke with pallbearers Edwin Otto Krueger Carl Hackmann Tofield Heck Alfred.

The Red Cross urgently seeks volunteers to assist in making kit bags for service men. Anyone who can and will help should call Mrs. C. B. Schori in Elgin, local production chairman.
The Baptist Sunday School will observe a special day featuring the hymn In the Temple. Wendell Biechler will perform a piano solo and LaFonda Miller will sing. A Father’s Day scripture reading will be given by John, Mery Anna, and Jimmie Schaer. Carlton Kruger will recite a Children’s Day hymn.
