A Fish Story From Hibbing Minnesota
An unusual tale from Hibbing Minnesota centers on Al Heitman who fishes near the federal dam district around Memorial Day. After losing a 60 pound pike on a first catch he reels in as the lure returns to the spot and pulls in a second massive catch. Heitman lands the same big pike on a later cast, a remarkable story of luck and persistence amid a foggy eyewitness note.

Elgin to Oil Streets Again This Year
Streets in Elgin will be oiled again this year using a heavier asphalt-based oil. A ten-gallon order arrived about ten days ago and should be ready soon. The oil must be heated before application and costs more, but longevity is expected to justify it. Center street from Freiburghaus corner to the Methodist church lacks proper gravel settlement for oiling.
