Frieden and Bennett families attended a double ring ceremony at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church with Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Miss Marlys Frieden wore Swiss embroidery with a scalloped neckline while bridegroom Carl Bennett and attendants wore formal attire. A reception for about 150 followed, and the couple will reside at 1439 A Ave NE Cedar Rapids.
Miss Marlene Mosby and Lt John W Cannon were married in a double ring ceremony at St Pauls Methodist Church with Rev E G Steinman. The couple, after a Chicago trip, will honeymoon then settle in Tucson Arizona where the groom is stationed. Out of town guests arrived from several Iowa towns and Cheyenne Wyoming.
The Pleasant Valley Sharpshooters met May 23 at Richard Amundson’s home. Twelve members answered roll with acres of corn. Duane named committee chairman to arrange a softball date. At Britt Mrs. L. P. Callison turned 98 and Mrs. Augusta Rasmuson reached 57 recently. In nearby Duncan, Mrs. Anna Wellik also celebrated a 97th birthday, marking notable ages among the community.

The index of prices received by Iowa farmers for all farm products fell 2 percent in the month ending May 15, with the May 16 index at 226 percent of the 1910-14 base. Livestock indices declined modestly while the crop index rose 6 points led by a 5 cent per bushel gain in corn.
