Music Hath Charms and a Rattlesnake Den Incident
A May’s Prairie farm rattlesnake den attracted Fred Lippert and a companion armed with a rifle on a spring day. Lippert played violin, snakes emerged attracted by the music, and a shot might have yielded more snakes. A separate note from Uriah J. Allen recalls a barn rats chase ending with a diamond ring found on a rat’s neck, lost by Miss Maggie Addins after five years.
