Tripoli youths fined for insult on street
Pay?Hipen, For Taspiting "Git, art ksrsihip and Ered Sohmiat of Tripoli, this state, were arrested last week charged with insulting girls on the streat of that town. They were taken before a local justice who, after hearing the evidence, fined Kirchhoff $75 and costa, and Schmidt, $40 and costs. The lower fine was given Schmidt because both admitted that Kirchhoff had told Schmidt what to say and induced him to say it. The boys are sixteen and eighteen years of age, and are farm hands near Tripoli. They are not naturally bad boys, but seemed to be firm in the idea that they had a right to say anything they chose to anyone, and that no one had the right to object. They admitted the charger and seemed greatly surprised when their fines were assessed. It is felt that they will not commit the scale offense-Republican,
