Len T Simek obituary reflects Hazelton roots and Clermont service
Len T Simek born July 4 1904 in Bazelton died May 28 1968 at age 48 in Clarion after a life of business and public service. He attended Hazelton High and Upper Iowa University where he earned a varsity letter in all major sports. He worked at Hazelton State Bank, then Eliott Construction, later managed Clermont Brick and Gan Co and expanded road surfacing. Active in church and community, he served on Clermont city council 1936-40 and 1940-44, and married Grace Miller Oct 15 1990. He is survived by Grace, sister Lavonne Walker, nieces Beverly and Barbara Walker, and other relatives.
