Clermont Lincoln statue mirrors Edinburgh tribute

The Clermont Iowa Lincoln monument, created by George E. Biswell, replicates Edinburgh’s statue admired by William and Mrs. Larrabee over 80 years ago. Initiated by Clermont residents and Gov. Larrabee’s support, it was dedicated in 1902 as the first bronze Lincoln on Iowa soil, placed beside Rock Island tracks and U.S. Highway 18.
