John Stankovic caught a 6 lb Rainbow Trout Tuesday afternoon at Village Creek in Alamakee County. The 20 inch fish was the largest Rainbow reported. Allen Krueger fished with him as they also landed a few smaller trout.

Town and Country Club met Friday evening May 27 at Mrs Reuben Stef fans home. The meeting opened with the American Creed and prayers by Mrs Carmen Swenson. Twelve members answered roll call with their favorite coffee snack and a $5 donation was approved for the Summer Recreation Program. For the last meeting of the year, husbands will be treated to dinner on Wednesday evening June 9 at the Kountry Manor. The gathering closed with the Club Collect and lunch served by the hostess. Mary Lacock Fayette county home economist spoke on Dress and Personal Appearance.

A Sunday May 29 picnic dinner was held in the West Clermont Church basement to honor the Oliver Larson family of Toledo Ohio. Attendees included Clifford Larson Jr and Sr of Mitchellville Iowa and other Larson relatives from Des Moines Winnebago Minnesota Ionia Ossian Castalia Clermont St Louis and Galesburg with accompanying spouses and guests.

Practice starts June 14 with distinct schedules for younger and older groups. Sth Grade graduates and eighth graders were honored in multiple local gatherings hosted by families including Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Flack Mrs. Leanna Hulbert and others. Guests came from Postville West Union Monona and Cedar Rapids among nearby towns. A Springweight suit ad and Arrow apparel promotions followed the notices.
Mr and Mrs Dan McGuire welcomed a son at Palmer Memorial Hospital on May 24 weighing 7 pounds named Daniel Fay. He has a brother and sister. grandparents are Mr and Mrs Ray Bissell of Arlington and Mrs Belle McGuire of Clermont. Mr and Mrs Delmer Kingery visited Cedar Falls Tuesday to meet their new granddaughter Jill Dearin born to Mr and Mrs Dennis Olson on May 27. Mrs Kingery will stay with the Olson family for the week.
D L Krueger and K Loftsgard move to Room 10 Norway House 2236 West Haddon Ave Chicago Illinois 60622 Pvt Robert Nims visited Mr and Mrs Gary Jacobson at the Glen Nims home for supper. Mrs Leanna Hulbert and Terry and Mrs Helen Osmundson were Wellsburg weekend guests of the Dale Welsh family. Helen Osmundson entered University Hospitals Iowa City Tuesday and returned Thursday evening after eye treatment. Mrs Charles Gilchrist Starla Paul and Annie Wachal Walker were Sunday evening callers on Mrs Helen Osmundson.
