The 14th annual Amundson reunion took place Sunday July 27 at East Clermont Church with the Roger Amundson family hosting. A program followed including Buet Joanne Winter Eleanor Naylor devotion by Georgene Ruffman readings by Kathleen Gisleson and music by Louis Amundson and the Amundson quartet. Nine births and three marriages were reported during the year. New officers named Syllows president Norene Landsgard vice president Georgene Ruffman secretary Kathleen Amundson program committee Jean Amundson Sandra Amundson and Lonnie Baker. King Scholarship recipient at American Legion Auxiliary meeting

Explorer Scouts Enjoy 4 Day Canoe Trip and Regatta
Explorer Scouts from Clermont and Elgin joined a four day Turkey River canoe trip visiting Elkader Hatchery and the Millville area. They attended Nashua’s Cedar River Regatta July 26 27 with swimming canoe racing archery and sailboat events. A passing out picnic and Regatta patches followed with a vote for Regatta queen won by Monticello. Local attendees hosted luncheon visits to several area residents in Randalia Fayette Elgin and El Paso.
