The Housekeeper Schemes In A Tangled Family Plot
In the New York home of James Broad, his son Frederic receives a wireless announcing his father's marriage. Lydia Desmond, Frederic’s fiancée, is drawn into intrigue as Mrs. Brood exerts control, sending away Lydia and Mrs. Desmond while Frede ric becomes entangled with Yvonne. Rituals of magic, jealousy, and hidden motives drive a tense confrontation as Broad contemplates mercy versus cruelty, ending with an uncharacteristic moment of emotion.
