Miller and Loveless clash over Iowa Senate race and convention drama
In Iowa politics Miller secured the Republican nomination for the U S Senate after a chaotic Republican convention with several counties seeking to change votes. Dayton Countryman was a strong challenger, but Miller prevailed on the first ballot after a bedlam floor fight. Gov Loveless denies pressuring delegates for Kennedy and denounces a Pearson column. The issue of reapportionment and other GOP platform planks are noted before the piece ends with highway edge markings near bridges and curves.
