The Elgin Echo is published every Thursday by R P Strauch and is entered in the Elgin post office as second class mail matter in Fayette County Iowa.
Friday gatherings saw Elgin Kensington Club members hosting Elkader Embroidery Club at a picnic near Mrs. Samuel Mosby’s home. Campers at Coojey Springs include Herbert Falk and others. Lawn party at Freiburghaus lot featured Japanese lanterns and refreshments. Several residents planned trips to Chicago Milwaukee Seattle and beyond.

Baumgartner and Viola Helmer of Iowa City called on the Oscar Baumgartner home. Paul Smith spent last week with his aunt Mrs. Martin Wenger and family. Amelia Eggens of La Crosse and her father Walter Eggens.
gens of Colesburg visited in the Martin Minihan home Thursday afternoon. The Butikofer and Friederich families joined others for Sunday guestings in Millville and Volga area homes. Several illnesses and an appendectomy were noted, with many social visits at Werlin and Dennler households and a picnic near the Pat Minihan home.
