The Ill yria Livestock 4-H Club met July 9 at the church with ten members. Robert Rothlisberger presided, Randy Miles and Mike Wilson reported as treasurer and secretary. Demonstrations on feeds were given by Charles Frieden and David Thompson. Rothlisberger reported on 4-H short course at Ames. Recreation preceded the meeting. hostesses were Mrs Miles and Mrs Frieden. June tour noted. August meeting set for the 7th with roll call on fundraising suggestions.
Mrs. Al Rogness of Sioux Falls South Dakota visited relatives the Thompson family last Wednesday. Her husband joined on Sunday morning and the group enjoyed a picnic at Trestoning State Park with relatives and friends.

A Sunday July 23 gathering at Elgin park brought Conner relatives and friends from Forest City Cedar Falls Alpha West Union and beyond. Attendees shared a dinner and hours of reminiscing attempting to reconstruct the Conner family tree with Earl Fox helping memory but the large lineage proved too complex. The group agreed the reunion was enjoyable and should be held again.
Brainard area social notes list overnight guests and dinners. Families including Cherry, Boyer, Martin, Peters, and Lyon host and visit in Delhi West Union Waterloo McGregor Grimes by town, with army buddy reunions and family reunions noted.
Sunday events in Don Reeder and nearby homes include birthday gatherings for Mrs. Boyer in West Union and Mrs. Jorris Martin, plus visits from the Glenn Boyer and Harr y Anderson households. Several families hosted over the weekend and attended a Meyers Kerr wedding in Postville Luther an Church with Roger Reeder Joe Peters and Billy Peters among attendees.

Numerous families from Elkader Volga and Farm ersburg hosted or visited during the weekend and Sunday gatherings at various homes including Dennier, Hofer, Butikofer, Christen and others. Birthdays noted for Luann Gladys and Donald. Butterly, Spook Cave picnic hosted by the Hanson group with relatives in attendance.
Mr and Mrs Clark Hummel of Arlington were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs Frieda Etter and Dorothy Afternoon callers were Mrs Amelia Kamm and Mrs James Temple West Union
