Grinnell dump supervisor gets wage raise amid scrap slump
Jack Lee, superintendent of the Grinnell city dump, received a raise last week as scrap metal sales bolstered his pay. The region faced little scrap metal since the European war began, prompting the council to adjust wages accordingly. An atlas from Guthrie Center papers aided a farmer who learned his land was still listed under the former owner. He corrected deeds after a quick check.
