Oak Grove area residents marked the Fourth with visits and gatherings at multiple homes. Many families listed include the Luchsingers Schultzs Leuchtenmachers and Browns with guests from Elkader West Union Decatur and Fayette. Several couples and their children circulated among the communities in Randalia Clermont Oelwein and Sumner.
The Illyria Farm Bureau will gather Thursday at 8 pm in the Dyria church. The program features piano solo by Helen Dennler, reading by Dorothy and Edith Medberry, accordion and vocal solos, a short talk, harmonica piece, and a ladies quartet. Attendees are invited and asked to bring sandwiches or cake.

Mr and Mrs William Grove and children of Eldora along with Mr and Mrs Carl Alleman and daughter visited the Max Thoma home from Friday night to Sunday evening with Elgin relatives. Georgia Mae Schorn returned to Minneapolis work after a vacation. Mrs Mel Kohler visited in Minneapolis then Chisago City with E J Halversons. Mr and Mrs Lowell Gruyer of Janesville Wisconsin visited Mrs Mabel Gruver. His mother and Mrs Lawrence Etler traveled to Janesville for a visit. Mary Matthys Lena Baumgartner and B J Baumgartner and daughter returned from Maiden Rock after visiting Geo Miller family.
