The Rock Island plans electric gas cars to take over the morning and night passenger runs to Decorah. The electric coaches are described as large and smooth running. Louis Lehman began work at the creamery Monday, replacing Lawrence Cannon who resigned previously. A shower was held last Saturday at the Arthur Yearous home for Miss Elsie Yearous.

Charles Abraham Peters born September 15 1882 in Brainard to Levine and Jerusha Peters died June 30 1953 survived by wife Malbel Peters three daughters Mrs Louis Becker Mrs Reuben Howard and Mrs Robert Kerr one son Joseph Peters twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren all of Elgin. Funeral services were held in Brainard with burial west of Brainard. Card of Thanks from Malbel Peters Louis Becker Reuben Howard Robert Kerr Joe Peters and the George Howard family.

Ernest Christen fell from an extension ladder injuring his ankle leg and shoulder with weeks of partial disability ahead. Mary L Becker returned from Colonial hospital Rochester MA after major surgery and is progressing well.
