How REA Handles Rural Electric Proposals
The Rural Electrification Administration conducts engineer ing and legal reviews of rural electrification proposals. Sponsors receive guidance on missing information, and after internal approvals the Administrator signs for funding and an allotment is arranged. Upon President approval funds are released from the Treasury, a loan contract is formed, and construction proceeds once key conditions are met. Also noted is R J Novotny near Decorah, who harvests corn and hay unusually early after four plowings of a 55 acre field.
