A Nordhus Paulson reunion was held Sunday at the Cletheta church, gathering family members for a local reunion event and shared memories. The occasion brought relatives together for fellowship and reflection.
Recital at Strawberry Point Friday featured Marian Schatz leading a tap class with Kathy and Lori Meier in attendance. Attendees also included Mr and Mrs Lloyd Attending and others Krueger and Su.
Mrs Streeter and several former Clemmont High School classmates from Anchorage Alaska Iowa City Overland Park Kansas and nearby communities enjoyed a Wednesday picnic at Clermont City Park. The gathering included Mrs Forester Elsie Jerdee and daughter Suzanne and Mrs Waters Marilyn Follett with children Craig and Brenda among others in attendance.

Sandra Bilden was honored with a grocery shower on Wednesday evening June 17 at Mrs. Kate Olson's home. Attendees included Mrs. Millard Bilden, Mrs. Oliver Larson, Helga Bilden, Mrs. Jim Olson, Clara and Myrtle, Mrs. Peterson Pearl, Mrs. Gerald Ider, and Miss Bilden's fiancé James Hoeg, the bride-elect.
The Clermont Bucks drawing results list LaVern Schneider winning 100 dollars not present Joyce Mabb 30 dollars present Walter Germann Jr 40 dollars not present and Mrs C M Kneeland 10 dollars present. A second drawing will be Friday evening due to July 4 holiday with prizes 100 30 and two 10 dollar awards.
Sandra Julisma Bilden of Postville married James Thomas Hoeg of Decorah in a double ring ceremony at East Clermont Lutheran on Sunday. The event featured a pink and white floral decor, a bouquet of gardenias and stephanotis, and detailed attire for the bride and attendants. The couple will reside at 2320%4 Elizabeth Ave, Zion, Illinois after July 9, with the bride to teach Latin at Zion next year.
Mrs Evelyn Fogle of Rippey died Friday evening June 26. She was mother of Dale Fogle, longtime coach at Valley High School, and formerly resided in Clermont. The notice records a family obituary brief with local ties to the school and community.

Riverside Club met in West Union with one visitor, Ms. Maynard Lantz. Mrs. Lyle Krueger conducted contests with prizes to Mrs. Martinderson, Mrs. Clarion Olson, Mrs. Emma Anderson, and Mrs. Maynard Lantz. Chrystal Anderson won the door prize. Next meeting July 22 hosted by Mrs. Laura Olson. A thank you card was read from Mrs. Laura Olson. Visitors Sunday included Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kittelson of Rochester, Minn. Supper guests with the La Kinsel home in Fayette.
The Red Cross water safety swimming program at Upper Iowa University closed after a two week session ending Friday June 12. Thirty seven children from grades 4 through 6 were enrolled with 28 showing perfect attendance and many advancing in tests. Total expense was 82 dollars 28 cents, leaving a balance of 2708 dollars paid by sponsoring groups.
The Busy Beaver 4-H Junior demonstration event met at Mrs. Almer Amunds home on Friday afternoon. Demonstrations included Custard's Best Stand by Connie Olson, Tips On Table Setting by Ann Larson, Little Muffs by Brenda Hilden and Betty Rei erson, First Zip of the Day by Marie Cummings and Tracy Cline, and Science Whip. Connie Olson was chosen to compete at Marion Lutheran Church on July 14 at 1 00 p.m. Judges Roberta Reckler and Diane Frieden. Guests included Mrs. Evelyn Thiele and Miss Reckler from El kader extension office. Lunch was served by the junior members.
Michele Lynn and Elizabeth Schott, infants of the Rebastian and Schott families, were baptized Sunday after the 10 oclock service led by Rev. Roger Peterson at West Clermont Lutheran Church. Sponsors included Lyle Olson Mer lin Sebastian and others. A luncheon at Lyle Olson home followed with many relatives and friends in attendance.

Campfire Girls met on May 22 at 4 p m at Mrs Leo Orth’s home. Ten members attended with five paying dues. They were reminded to submit dues promptly. A play titled The Stubborn Witch was performed. Two visitors Kath leen Gunderson and Mrs Don Cowell attended. Lunch was served by Mrs Orth Anita Skelton reporter.
Mr and Mrs Ernest Helger visited Sunday at the Fred Schott home with their son Sheila and Sharnell The Marvin Schott family and Mr and Mrs Leo Woods with their sons called in. Also Mr and Mrs Wm Burrow visited in the Richard Griebenow home Sunday evening.
