Senior Doris Orth of Elgin Looks to Secretary Career
Doris Jane Orth, a 1939 Fort Atkinson-born Elgin student, is active in music, speech, and school staff roles. She lives on a farm northwest of Elgin with Harold and his wife, attends local schools, sings in church choirs, works Saturdays at Olson's jewelry, and aims for a secretarial career after graduation. Speech results list her as a first-place winner in humorous and dramatic declamation categories, advancing to regional contests at West Union High School.
