Loveless Attacks Use of Private Attorneys by Iowa Road Fund
Iowa Senator Loveless criticizes reliance on private lawyers for road program work, citing $127,734 paid from road funds for 1950, with 12 month charges about 46,000 in 1957 58. Governor Erbe defends by noting inflated figures, increases in condemnation appeals, and argues local counsel are more effective than large highway staff.
