Rural Life Notes and Local Gleanings of January
A collage of small-town happenings includes visits from Davenport and Audubon, sales at Kniel Rubyer, a West Bend hardware partnership, and farmers debating egg and chicken tales. The piece mentions civic notes from assessors meeting, a piano endurance waltz contest in Fonda, and local obituaries, court actions, and bank affairs with Elgin Savings Bank officers re-elected.
