Miss Dohna Wenger and Lee Brainard were united in marriage Sunday at 3 pm in St Pauls Methodist Church Postville. The ceremony was followed by a reception for about 125 guests. The bride will live on a farm near Postville. the groom is a farmer.
Obituary of Lulu Rothilisberger born January 5 1881 on a Highland township farm in Clayton County. She educated in rural schools completed college training at Upper Iowa Cedar Falls and Iowa State Teachers College before teaching. Married Charles E Rothlisberger April 4 1906 and lived on Fayette County farms. Survived by three children Earl Helen Hazel, siblings Will Kerr Lydia Kerr Floyd Patterson Elmer Malkow and many relatives. Died January 13 1944 aged sixty three years eight days after long illness. Funeral at local church with burial in family lot. casket bearers listed including nephews and friends.

Mrs Christine Erickson passed away at her home southwest of Decorah on January 2 1944 at age 75 years seven months. Born May 14 1868 in Clayton County she and Christian Erickson married June 2 1886 and farmed in Highland Township before moving to Winneshiek County. Survived by son John and daughter Clara plus five grandchildren two great grandchildren two sisters and one brother. funeral held January 7 at Decorah Lutheran Church and home.
The Progress Club met Monday evening at Mrs. Louise Lantz inten home. Members heard a Greece program including Stuka Horror Over Greece and Greek Tragedy pieces by Kathryn Johnson Edna Hunsberger and Helen Muehle. The club voted a five cent fine for absences and a member missing three meetings in a row without good cause will be dropped. Next meeting with Genevieve Dunkle on January 31.
Mrs Charles Lord of Promise City presented each of the sixteen men who husked 16 acres of corn for her late husband Mr Charles Lord with canes crafted by him as a hobby.
