George L. Oakes of 872 Ashland avenue died instantly after slipping on stairs in his home shortly after 2 AM yesterday. He had risen to use the bathroom and, misplacing the doorway, plunged to the bottom of the stairs. Death was due to concussion of the brain. Family members awakened by the noise found him beside the stairs.
The annual exhibition of the state poultry association begins a week long session in Oshkosh Wisconsin with more than 1600 entries the largest ever. Alongside poultry Belgian hares and pot stock are displayed. Milwaukee extends invitation for next year and Oshkosh seems likely to host again. The state horticultural society is also meeting here this week.
