Furniture Mart Visit Reports Trends in 1940s Furniture
Mr and Mrs F C Muehlethaler returned from Chicago where they visited the Furniture Mart to view new items and stock up on lines. They spoke with Rev Theo Dons family at Forest Park and reported wooden furniture remaining available despite possible slow deliveries. Factories operate with reduced labor and finishing materials face delays. Metal furniture will be harder to obtain due to government rationing with some substitutes deemed equal. So far little increase in wood furniture.
