Clermont defeated Ossian 49 35 in the boys game led by Norman Sampson and Kenfath Anderson with 15 points each while Ossian’s Jed Sand added 11. The girls’ team won 44 28 as Lorraine Kittelson scored 21 and Mary Tschantz and Ardis Olson added 11 each. Jacqulyn Strand led Ossian with 17. The boys game was broadcast on KDCH Decorah courtesy of Ossian merchants.

Mrs Ruth Starkey hosted the Methodist W S C S at her home on Wednesday evening with nine members and six guests attending. Devotions were led by Mrs Starkey, annual secretary and treasurer reports were read and filed, and the program chair reviewed the December topic The Minera and the Christmas Lights and the January topic By His Light Shall the Nation Walk. The meeting ended with prayer and refreshments.

Death of Mrs Burrow in Hawk Eye Clermont Region
Mrs. Burrow died Monday at 6 30 am at the home of her daughter Mrs Charles Fritz in Hawk Eye where she had lived for a year and a half. A Clermont resident and second oldest citizen, she would have turned 94 on March 31. Surviving are nine children. husband Fred Burrow died 26 years ago. Funeral Thursday at 1 30 pm at Muehlethaler funeral home and 2 pm at Elgin Baptist church. Burial in Elgin cemetery. Life sketch to appear next week.
